REBEKAH MILLS

Rebekah Mills graduated from UT Southwestern Medical Center as a physician assistant. She is an internal medicine hospitalist and brings over 15 years of experience in chronic disease management including heart disease, strokes, heart failure, infections, thyroid disease, cancers, liver disease, substance and tobacco abuse, gastrointestinal disease, autoimmune conditions, geriatric disease and mental health disorders.

She currently speaks at local and state level events in topics which include aspects on topics including wellness, homeschooling, motherhood, and medicine. At her current job, she has served on the ethics committee, education of PA students, peers and medical students and has organized multiple continuing education programs, directs the local PA and NP chapter, and has participated in the advanced practitioner council to advance her profession.

She is an avid traveler involved in multiple community service programs and her church. She studied abroad in Europe for a semester and spent a year in Mexico and received her Associates Degree in Biblical studies and has worked in Australia to pioneer future PA programs.

Rebekah’s community involvement includes creation of a health screening program at the Mexican Consulate in Dallas, volunteer work at a local low-income clinic, BOD ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, and Bible study leader. She has created a community of local mothers and is passionate about providing community to moms, especially military, to prevent the isolation and depression that can commonly ensue. Rebekah homeschools her children and is proficient in Spanish as well.

Rebekah’s passion for wellness began after her children were born when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder, called Hashimoto’s which subsequently followed by post-partum depression and has now completed treatment. She then began extensively researching dietary and lifestyle modifications to promote better health. She works to incorporate a plant-based lifestyle medicine into her regular cuisine and encourages her patients in this area as well.

Her hobbies include photography, travel (anywhere, anytime), cultural events and visiting her large family. She works with a variety of mission organizations, and most recently worked in a medical clinic in Kenya, Africa as well as Guatemala.

Rebekah recognizes that as a Christian, Christ alone has been a crucial part of who she is today and actively practices her faith in her family, relationships and community. Each day is a decision and many days are not perfect, but her underlying lifestyle is based on Biblical principles.

Rebekah Mills a remarkable combination of medical expertise, encouragement, active listening skills, motivation and compassion in a down to earth way. Her educational style creates simple, easy to follow, doable skills that will create an environment for long time wellness. Her goal is to promote lifelong freedom from the barriers that lead to inconsistency, lack of motivation and the feeling of failure.
